The BAPE x Superstar 80s “White/Black” is a February 2021 collaboration between the Japan based streetwear brand and on the low-top shoe. No strangers to one another at this point, BAPE and , two of streetwear’s most recognizable names, have worked together on numerous occasions since 2003. A juxtaposition that combines design elements of the classic tennis shoe and BAPE’s Bapesta model, the Superstar 80s features a retro inspired look. The construction features a white leather base with contrasting black leather Three Stripes branding and heel tabs. Gold foil and A Bathing Ape branding are printed on the left shoe and right shoe, respectively. In fact, all logos and branding on the left shoe are for while the right shoe is all BAPE. For example, embroidered detailing appears on the back of the left shoe and “Bape Sta” on the right shoe. A gold BAPE lace dubrae is incorporated into the styling of the laces on both feet.
